Initially a pimple starts when the pores in the skin becomes clogged with a type of oil known as sebum, which lubricates on the skin pores and hair follicles. Acne is a common skin problem which arises during the puberty period, when the hormones go into a state of overdrive causing the skin to overproduce sebum. Due to the fact that there are many oil-producing glands are on the forehead, nose, and chin, which is also known as the T-zone area is where a person is most prone to pimples. These are several tips to help to prevent breakouts and clear them up as fast as possible:
- Wash your face
Wash your face at least twice a day with warm water. Use a cleanser or a mild soap specially oriented on people with acne-prone skin. Gently massage your face with circular motions to remove all the dirt from your face.
- Do not pop pimples
Popping pimples can push infected material further into the skin leading to more swelling and redness, and even scarring.
- Avoid touching your face
Avoid any kind of interaction with your face with your fingers or leaning your face on objects that collect sebum and skin residue like cell-phones. This will avoid to spread the bacteria that cause pores to become inflamed and irritated. In order to keep bacteria at bay, wash your hands before applying anything on your face, such as treatment creams or make-up.
- Remove your make-up before you go to sleep
Make sure you remove your make-up completely before you go to bed because if not the bacteria will build up on your skin and cause various kinds of skin problems. So in order to prevent that use cleansing facial wipes and any kind of quality make-up removal cleanser to remove your make-up from your face.
- Keep your hair and eye-wear clean
If you wear glasses or sunglasses, make sure you clean them frequently to keep away the dirt and oil from clogging the pores around your eyes and nose. Moreover, always keep your hair clean and out from your face to prevent from additional dirt and oil on your pores.
- Protect your skin from the sun
Tanning also causes damage to skin that will eventually lead to wrinkles and increase the risk of skin cancer. In order to avoid this risk use a good standardized sunscreen to protect your skin.
